He’s been dead for 30 years but JRR Tolkien is still writing books.

The Children of Hurin tells the tragic and dark tale of a family cursed by Morgoth, the first dark lord (he makes Sauron look like Santa Claus.)

I’ll put a full review up as soon as I finish reading it (even though I’ve already read most of it in The Silmarillion.  That’s how I know it’s dark and tragic.)

Also, there’s a dragon in it and he’s meaner than Smaug.

Amazon has it, of course.

I will have to read this book as I thought, the Silmarillion was better than Lord of the Rings. I am a huge Tolkien fan, I am suprised this book got by me, oh well, thanks for the heads up.

So far it’s better than the sum of the parts that were in The Silmarillion. I keep encountering parts of the narrative that I don’t recall ever reading before.
