Epilogue to an Exhausting Weekend
April 2nd, 2007 by Brian
It will take me a couple days to get back into the swing of things around here after being away from the internet for the past 72 hours. Despite 10 hours of sleep last night, I’m still tired enough that my mental abilities are slightly impaired. My gaming club had its annual weekend of tournaments these past few days. We had about 800 attendees from all over the world and I worked something like 24 hours in the span of 2 days. It was worth it though as the consensus is that we run one of the world’s best gaming events.
I was driving out to the suburbs at the ass-crack of dawn on Sunday and I saw a car cross over the dividing line for no apparent reason, jump a curb on the opposite side of the street and ram into a light pole. I called the police but I didn’t stop. It looked like the guy had about a dozen air bags so I’m sure he was fine. On my way home about 13 hours later there was another serious accident accident about 500 feet up the street. Maybe that block was cursed or something.
There’s a new Perry Bible Fellowship popping up on my RSS reader today. If you’re unfamiliar with PBF you should spend some time on that site reading the comics. It’s one hell of a great strip.
I finally found this episode of The Real Ghostbusters on YouTube. I wish they would release the full series on DVD.
Finally, last night Adult Swim played the best April Fools joke I’ve ever seen. Over the last few weeks they’ve been advertising that they would run the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie (it has not yet been released in theaters) on Sunday April 1st. They DID run the movie but they ran it in a tiny tiny screen in the corner with no sound over their usual Sunday night lineup.
